Case Study: Edge Dental Care

Edge Dental Care is a boutique dental clinic based in Edgecliff, Sydney. It has a long 20 year history in serving the local community in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney. Sara has recently taken over the helm after the original dentist retired.

We were called in to help with professional dental website and headshot photography to revive the website. It had been left unchanged for a long time, and was undergoing an overhaul with a new web developer. In particular the staff headshots were just casual phone photographs which didn’t show them in a professional light. Having everyone in a consistent look was important to show the cohesiveness of the team, and to show that everyone in the business had a common direction.

We started with each of the staff in their uniforms for their professional headshot. Sara had commented that all the dental profiles she had seen before were so stiff and formal. It was important to Sara that they look more friendly and approachable. As we know, clients choose to work with people they like and trust. We did various shots, and in the end selected the ones you see above. They are friendly, caring, and fresh, in keeping with the new direction of Edge Dental Care.

On the site there was also heavy use of stock photography which was impersonal and now looked a bit dated. We decided to get some group shots that could be used in some of those areas.

We wanted to show everyone having fun together, working as a team. It would give clients a feel of the atmosphere in the clinic, and what type of service they could expect. We created some fun shots that could be used in various promotional spots. These shots were versatile and could be used as web banners, Facebook profiles, on flyers, reminder cards, and in promotional emails. The possibilities were endless.

After that we went for some more casual shots out of uniform. Firstly we made a professional shot of Sara for use in her LinkedIn. She wanted to use a shot that was not in uniform, so she could also use it in various other profiles.

Then we had some fun loosening up and creating various other shots that would be used for social media. All of these were in keeping with the friendly style that Sara was looking for. These shots allowed her for some creative media campaigns in the future, with quality photographs that match the quality of her brand.
